Larry Stowell

I am a managing director of PACE Turf with my wife, Dr. Wendy Gelernter. PACE Turf is an independent consulting organization that he founded in 1986, and that provides research, education and information services to the turfgrass industry

I was trained at the University of Arizona, where I received a B.S. (1977) and Ph.D. in plant pathology (1982), and at the University of California, Davis, where I conducted post-doctoral plant pathology research until 1984. In addition to turfgrasses, I was fortunate to have worked on cotton, processing tomatoes, lettuce, dry beans, and soybeans. I coauthored a couple of patents that were worth about as much as the paper they were printed on, and I have authored quite a few articles and four book chapters. My current interests include development of precision turfgrass management systems and IPM for turf. PACE Turf provides on-line access to a wide range of turf-related research, education and weather models for turfgrass management professionals at www.paceturf.org.
